Studies state it takes at least 3 weeks to stick to a new habit or break an old one.
The thing is that most people do not make it to the 3 week mark. So how do you do it?

The most effective commitment for most people is 30 days because a full month is easier to follow. If you want to stick to a new habit, try 30 days at first, then after the 30 days evaluate how you are doing and if you are still interested in continuing the habit it will be a lot easier for you too.

Here are some tips to help you along!

    1. Plan. Write down specifically what you want to change or start. I say specifically because the more specific you are the clearer your intention. So instead of saying, “I want to lose weight” you would say “I want to lose 5 pounds by eating less of this and more of this” Then that way you know you have a specific plan that you can stick to and hold yourself accountable to.

    2. Report. Get a calendar or other reporting tool. Seeing your progress will help you to stay motivated. So if you have committed to doing something for 30 days get a calendar and cross the days out. If you have committed to finishing certain things, no matter how small, create a list post it up and cross out each thing you finish. That is why it is so important to create a specific plan so you can celebrate every success everyday!!
